Pearls in Clinical Neuroscience

“Pearls in Clinical Neuroscience” focuses on the nexus of neurology and psychiatry. It is a review of one or more case studies where mental health issues crossover between neurology and psychiatry. Included with the report is a review of the available data and the history of the given topic.

Trends in Psychopharmacology

This column covers important and emerging areas from the field of psychopharmacology in a format that will be brief, and hopefully understandable. Topics include what is new, “hot,” controversial, or informative in the field, and, of course, suggestions for future columns are always welcome.

Brain Regions of Interest

In this column series, edited by Dr. Trimble, contributors discuss specific anatomical structures along with their main afferent and efferent connections and some comments on their function in regards to behaviors as it is understood at the present time.

Interactive Case Conference

“Interactive Case Conference” focuses on single case reports of individuals with psychiatric disorders. After a brief review of the case, a mental health status exam is presented, accompanied by treatment and diagnosis questions directed at physicians and clinicians. These readers are encouraged to respond with their opinions and possible options. This column is presented as a practical means to further enhance understanding of a given disease, its onset, course, and therapy.
